Learning How To Trust
One of the most important lessons on the spiritual path, one that arises for every soul, is the learning of how to trust in God, even during times of adversity. There are those who believe that if there were a God, life should not be painful. That is an understandable but limited view of spiritual reality.The soul learns to trust through the process of challenge, limitation, and overcoming adversity. These elements bring the soul to its edge where one is asked to look within, rather than without.
The very process of looking within starts the soul upon a new path of liberation. No longer is the soul a victim of circumstance, but is reflecting on that which is happening, asking ... what is the learning for me here?
As the soul begins to look within, there is a new awareness of patterns and themes that arise in one's life. A familiarity with the inner life is born. Learning to trust in God begins here, begins with the soul looking inward.
As this inner connection is strengthened, a line of Light becomes established between the soul awareness, or higher Self, and the day to day consciousness of the self. More and more the soul learns how to rely upon the strength within, until eventually the consciousness of the Higher Self infuses the entire body, mind, and daily consciousness of the person. In this way one begins to live from a place of true connection with Spirit.
If you find yourself lacking in faith, unable to find your trust in God, ask and pray that your connection with Spirit be deepened. Begin a regular meditation practice or other spiritual support. This will create a pathway for the Light of Spirit to more fully infuse all of your life.
The great joy of living life as One, deeply connected with God, with yourself, and with all of creation, is the reward for those who choose the spiritual life.
Though all beings have a spiritual life, because all beings are of spirit, those who are conscious of their connection to God can provide a light, a beacon of hope and strength and love to others and to the world.
May all beings be blessed with God's holy and divine light. May all beings rest at peace within the truth of God's love. Amen.
